(Source: Federal Bureau of Investigation - Miami Field Office) Ravindranauth 'Ravi' Roopnarine, 56, of Guyana, was sentenced by United States District Judge Jose E. Martinez on July 14, 2016 to 262 months in prison, following his conviction by a federal jury on charges stemming from his leadership and participation in an extensive mortgage fraud scheme. Following his term of imprisonment, Roopnarine will be placed on supervised release for five years. Roopnarine was also ordered to pay $9,041,133.46 in restitution to the defrauded lenders and banks.
